Surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the Serra de Tramuntana, Port de Sóller is one of the essential places to visit in Mallorca, with its picturesque train and tram that continues to function as it used to, allowing access from Palma, the capital, through a spectacular mountain landscape. In the port of Sóller you can rent boats without a license and enjoy fantastic boat trips.

From Port de Sóller you can visit Sa Foradada to the South. Sa Foradada, which translates as “the hole”, is the name of this characteristic rock that rises a few dozen meters from the sea and forms a small peninsula. From here, you can see one of the best sunsets on the island. And if you want to stop for lunch, you should know that at the top of the cliff, with magnificent views, there is a very special little restaurant where you can enjoy a paella made over a fire in a wood oven.

Sailing north from Port de Sóller you can reach Cala Tuent, the largest unspoilt beach in the Sierra de Tramuntana.

Another destination that you cannot miss is Sa Calobra, a pebble cove guarded by huge cliffs. From here you can rent a boat and sail to the Island of Dragonera. This legendary uninhabited island, which has been a National Park since 1995, has 361 species of different plants and endemic birds. Once you get to the island, you can explore its hiking trails and coves, and make friends with the native lizards that live here!

Cala Figuera is located about 60 kilometers from the Majorcan capital, Palma de Mallorca. The seafaring roots are undeniable in this charming little fishing village hidden between rocky cliffs, pine and fig trees. The facades of fishermen’s houses and boat sheds gleam in white that contrasts with the green of the shutters. Many fishermen’s houses have a terrace that overlooks the promenade, where they moor their boats in sheds. It is one of the best places to eat fresh fish and seafood, brought in daily by local fishermen.
