Today we show you a fascinating boat excursion on the north coast of Mallorca.
Setting sail from the picturesque Port de Sóller, we will visit the famous Sa Calobra and, next to the small fishing village, the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, Mallorca’s natural wonder.
This is, without a doubt, one of the star activities in Mallorca.
We suggest you enjoy a private boat trip with your family and / or friends, in a very small group, thus guaranteeing maximum security against the Covid-19.
We recommend two options to get to Sa Calobra: rent a powerboat with your license, or hire the services of boat with a professional skipper (motor boat or sailing yacht).
Are you ready to embark on this fascinating adventure? We set sail for Sa Calobra !!
As we have already mentioned, the start of this boat trip to Sa Calobra is found in Port de Sóller, a beautiful town on the shores of the Mediterranean located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, on the north coast of Mallorca.
In this fantastic location, we have our “headquarters” the MaksyBoats team, offering unique experiences to our clients on board our boats, whether with skipper or on their own, with or without a sailing license.
If you have never sailed by boat, we recommend you take a look at our tips section for renting a boat in Mallorca.
What are we going to find on this boat excursion to Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis?
It is a truly spectacular route due to the abrupt orography of the north coast, with a beautiful succession of imposing cliffs, beautiful coves with crystal clear waters, caves, mouths of ravines, islets … A wonderful combination between the blue of the sea, the ocher of the rocks and the green of the pine trees.
Many of our clients define this excursion as “the best of their holidays in Mallorca“. Let’s find out why…
Route map to Sa Calobra
On the following map you can see the highlights on this boat trip to Sa Calobra.
Highlights on the boat trip to Sa Calobra
Ses Cambres & Cova des Vell Marí
One of the first points of interest on our journey to Sa Calobra is found in Ses Cambres. It is an area protected from the wind by Sa Punta Llarga, and therefore it can be a good area to stop and enjoy its crystal clear waters. In this beautiful “corner” there is very little depth, so we have to be very careful with submerged rocks, as well as rocks that could come off the cliff.
Near Ses Cambres, in the direction of Sa Calobra, we find several caves, such as the Cova des Vell Marí. It is possible to enter some of them when the sea is calm, again using extreme caution.

Sa Illeta (Islet)
“Sa Illeta” is a small islet 400 meters long, separated from the coast by a narrow passage just 60 meters wide. From this area we have excellent views towards the Torre Picada, a defensive tower built in the 17th century.
Sa Illeta is the furthest point from Port de Sóller that we can reach with a rental boat without a license. From here, this excursion is reserved for boats with license or boats with a professional skipper, both options available with MaksyBoats.
Torrent de Na Mora (ravine mouth)
The Torrent de Na Mora is one of the many ravines that descend from the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, pouring its waters into the sea in the rainy season.
Na Mora is a ravine famous for the practice of canyoning, an activity that is often combined with a boat trip back to Port de Sóller.
In this case, when the sea is calm, it is possible to enter the mouth of Na Mora with a small boat. It is undoubtedly a fascinating place.
Sa Costera
Sa Costera is an area of great beauty with crystal clear and shallow waters, which is why we must be very careful with submerged rocks.
This can be a good place to anchor and dive, as it is slightly protected from the wind.
At this point there is a spring that flows directly from the cliff, especially after heavy rains (in summer the flow is usually low but visible).
Cala Tuent
Before arriving at Sa Calobra, we found one of the highlights of this fantastic boat trip: the beautiful Cala Tuent.
It is a small cove that remains practically unchanged, located at the foot of the impressive Serra de Tramuntana mountains, such as the Puig Major, the highest mountain in Mallorca.
Cala Tuent is a fantastic place to anchor, swim, dive … Here we have the possibility of disembarking to enjoy the fantastic cuisine of the Es Vergeret Restaurant. It is well worth it !!
Sa Calobra & Torrent de Pareis
Finally, we arrive at our destination for the private boat excursion on the north coast of Mallorca. Sa Calobra is a small natural port, one of the few that we find on the steep north coast.
Here we can disembark to eat in one of the excellent restaurants and make the way on foot, through a tunnel, which leads us to the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, probably the most amazing natural wonder in all of Mallorca.
Perhaps the only negative aspect of Sa Calobra is the high influx of visitors during the summer months. Therefore, if we prefer not to disembark, we can enjoy a paella on board a yacht with skipper, anchoring in the middle of this beautiful bay and diving in its transparent waters.
